1.  Obey God's laws and commandments.

Trying to keep the commandments cannot save us, but shows we are sinners:

"for whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."                       James 2:10

   2.  Sincerely do your best.

   3. Turn from your sins and stop sinning.

Doing your best is commendable. To turn from your sins and stop sinning is also very desirable (yet impossible). Will doing these things make you perfect? No. Heaven is a perfect place and you must be perfect to enter. The Bible says:

"But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life."                  Revelation 21:27

4. Do good deeds.        5. Give Money to Church or Charity

No deeds, charity, contributions to churches, nor any good work that you do can take away your sins or save you.  The Bible says:

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,  not of works, lest anyone should boast."                          Ephesians 2:8,9

6. Water Baptism or Holy Communion

Water baptism and communion cannot pay for sins. They are object lessons for those who are already saved.

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us,..."            Titus 3:5

7. Be sorry for your sins, and confess your sins.

It is right to be sorry for your sins, and to confess your sins, but this alone cannot take away sin. There needs to be a basis for forgiveness; a means to make things right. Otherwise we will spend eternity in hell, because the Bible tells us:

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."                 Romans 6:23

Heaven is a perfect place; nothing we do can make us perfect. How then can we go to Heaven? The answer is found in God's Word:

"For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."                                                   2 Corinthians 5:21

The sacrifice of the perfect Lamb of God, Jesus Christ on the cross, is our one and only basis of forgiveness. He died for us and rose again from the dead to pay for all of our sins.

8.  Trust in Jesus Christ alone as your personal Savior.

Correct! By trusting in Jesus Christ as the one who died for your sins, you will receive everlasting life. Even though you may die physically, your soul will live forever in Heaven. Jesus Christ said:

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."                                          John 3:16

"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life."                                                          John 5:24

The moment you place your trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior, your sins will be forgiven, and you will receive God's righteousness. This allows you to enter Heaven.

"and by Him (Jesus Christ) everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses."                                                   Acts 13:39

9.  Trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior and also serve Him.

Don't confuse your trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior, with your service for Him. You can do nothing to add to the finished work of Christ. By doing so, you are not trusting in Christ alone as your Savior, but only as your helper. You cannot go to Heaven that way. The Bible says:

"But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness." Romans 4:5

Once you place your trust in Christ to be saved, good works will follow as a RESULT of your salvation. The Bible says:

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."                                                      Ephesians 2:10

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17

10.  There is no Heaven or Hell

Friend, I cannot make you believe in Heaven or Hell. Maybe you don't believe in it because you can't see it. But neither can you see the air you breathe, yet without it you would die. Heaven is real! Hell is real! I invite you to thoroughly investigate God's Word before rejecting the idea. The Bible says:

""He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."         John 3:18
